A Blessing for Room 1

The One Still Hovering

Room 1 is called Remain Connected—and it’s the room where God begins His rebuilding work. It’s not a punishment. It’s not a sign you’ve failed. It’s the place where hovering is holy.

I wrote this blessing for every woman who needs to hear that her limbo is not wasted—that God is present in the waiting.

Read it slowly. Breathe between the lines. Let it settle.

A Blessing for the One Still Hovering

May you know, deep within, that hovering is holy, not a waste of time, and may this truth strengthen your spirit.
May you sense the presence of the God who hovered over chaos, who is unafraid of your darkness, undeterred by your pace, and unwilling to rush your healing.

May shame fall off you, one breath at a time.
May you begin to trust that your “not much” is more than enough in His hands.

May the same God convince your nervous system that it is safe to exhale in His presence—that you don’t have to perform, produce, or prove anything to remain in His care.
May your shoulders remember how to drop, your jaw remember how to unclench, and your breath remember that it was His idea first.

May you be released from fake timelines—the ones you’ve put on yourself and the ones other people have tried to place on you. May comparison lose its grip.
May you lay down the expectations that say you always have to be the strong one—doing the most, feeling the least—just to be taken seriously.
May you be free from the lie that you should “be over it by now,” and instead hear the truth that God is still hovering, still holding, still creating in you what you cannot yet see.

May you begin to trust that your questions are welcomed invitations, that your quiet is enough, and that your tears are received as the prayers they are in the throne room of God, where He sits with you, unhurried. That He isn’t waiting for your “cleaned-up” version. That the honest, exhausted, uncertain you is exactly who He’s hovering over right now.

May you discover that remaining connected doesn’t require perfection—just presence. And may even your weakest whisper of “I’m still here” reach the ears of a God who has never stopped hovering over you.

May you remember: limbo is not punishment. It’s preparation. It’s the room where God breaks your attachment to what was so He can prepare you for what will be.

And may this truth take root deep in your spirit, beneath the noise and the doubt, where shame has tried to grow:
You’re not starting from scratch. You’re starting from faith.

The same Spirit who moved over the waters in Genesis 1 is moving over your life right now.
He’s not finished with you. In fact, He’s just getting started.
And when the light comes—when He speaks, and you see the flicker—you’ll step into Room 2 from a place of connection, not panic. With trust, not fear.

Until then:

  • Just breathe.
  • Just stay close.
  • Just hover with Him.
  • He’s already hovering over you.

In the name of the Father, who sees you; the Son, who holds you; and the Spirit, who hovers over you—

Breath Practice

If you’d like to sit with this blessing longer: Try the “I’m Still Here” breath practice:

What it is: A 2-minute practice that combines breath and presence—simple enough for the exhausted, powerful enough to shift the spirit. Once a day—maybe when you first wake up, or before bed, or in a quiet moment at your desk—take slow breaths and whisper.

How it works:

  1. Find a quiet moment—whether it’s in the morning, before bed, or during a break in your day.
  2. Set a timer for 2 minutes.
  3. Breathe deeply and slowly—inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 6 counts.
  4. As you inhale, silently say: “Father, You’re here”—acknowledging God’s presence.
  5. As you exhale, silently say: “I’m still here”—grounding yourself in the moment.
  6. Repeat for 2 minutes (about 10-12 breath cycles). Let each breath draw you into His presence, meeting you in whatever you’re feeling.

Variation: Each day, try a different name—Father God, Jesus, Abba, Holy Spirit. Notice which one your spirit reaches for.

Can’t do 2 minutes? Do 30 seconds. Can’t sit still? Do it while washing dishes. This isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence.

You’re not trying to feel anything. You’re not trying to manufacture emotion or clarity. You’re simply staying close—the way a child holds their parent’s hand in the dark, not because they understand the path, but because they trust the hand they’re holding.

And if you miss a day, just begin again. Beginning again is part of the rhythm. You’re not failing—you’re forming.
