A deep dive into Genesis 1:2 reveals the devastation that was the state of the world before God began creating. There’s a connection that leads from the Creation story to our personal stories: at some point we each face a similarly formless void, defined by darkness and uncertainty…
But also filled with opportunity and hope. The chaos, emptiness, and darkness are devastating, but we aren’t helpless or alone – there’s always an invitation from God.
God, the most powerful force in the universe, was there above the formless, void, and dark world at the beginning of Genesis 1:2. God is also there when you’re feeling empty, powerless, and at your most vulnerable.
From the beginning, God has demonstrated the infinite power to create something out of nothing on a universal scale – this is God’s way and this power can manifest for you, too.
