Amplifying Voices, Empowering Change

Must-Follow Minorities | September 2024

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of my new series, “Must-Follow Minorities: Amplifying Voices, Empowering Change.” Each month, I’ll spotlight incredible individuals who are making a significant impact in their communities and beyond.

These inspiring voices are driving change, fostering collaboration, and showing us the power of unity and diversity.

In a world where representation matters, amplifying minority voices is crucial. It brings diverse perspectives to the forefront, fosters inclusion, and drives social progress. These individuals are not just influencers but change-makers who inspire and lead by example.

So, without further ado, here are some must-follow Christian minorities who are making an impact in various fields:

Maya Elizabeth

Maya Elizabeth is a Baltimore-based singer-songwriter, recording artist, and worship leader whose creativity revolves around healing, truth, and love. She has been songwriting since age 6 and singing in church since around 11. She released her debut album, Soulhouette: This is M.E. in 2016, followed by Space to Fill in 2021.

Maya’s music has a unique ability to create an intimate experience where each listener feels loved, seen, and whole.

Rooted in her passon to help others connect with a deeper sense of purpose, Maya’s music has a unique ability to create an intimate experience where each listener feels loved, seen, and whole. Her highly anticipated new single, It’s Ok To Be Falling, releases on January 27th. The song is a soothing reminder to embrace even the ickiest feelings, knowing authentic joy is on the way! Christina Custodio

Christina Custodio is an author, speaker, teacher, photographer, and whatever the Lord asks her to be from day to day. Christina holds a degree in Psychology/Christian Counseling and uses it in many ways throughout her life. On September 8, 2015, her son Isaiah’s near-death experience changed the trajectory of her life. God used the terrifying ordeal as a launchpad for her ministry: leading others to find joy, faith, and hope, regardless of their circumstances. Christina connects to others by using her gift of transparency and authenticity.

She encourages others to know that all any of us can be is the very best version of who God created us to be. We have each been called for a purpose. No one can take our place in what the Lord has called us to do individually.

Christina lives in Greenville, SC with her husband Ozzy, and has three adult children.
